This weekend I traveled to Townsend, TN to crew for my friends Kat and Dale Pattyn’s hot air balloon Hyggelig . Townsend is in the midst of a gorgeous area of Tennessee, and the company could not be beat. Ballooning is a sport that has given me some really great friends…the kind that become family. I’m also including a piece of Dale’s interview that didn’t make it on air (poorly filmed by me). The name of their balloon is the essence of our community, I believe, and Dale tells what I means. The perfect name for the balloon of a couple who infuse us with this spirit.
I loved being in Townsend this weekend and appreciate the organizers and sponsors who make it happen, and the people we were able to meet. I left feeling like I met a lot of potential friends and wan to come back to see you again!
(And while we were in Townsend, other friends were competing and staffing US Nationals in Nebraska. We were keeping an eye on things there, too! Some crazy weather during the week made things interesting, but some competition happened too. Congratulations to the winners!)
