I love rest.
The one good thing about the past year of unemployment is that I have been getting my rest. Oh, I slept well when I had a job, but didn’t take enough time to clear my mind, relax, and take a real time out.
I look at some of you and you have packed out your lives to the point that even when you have free time you can’t make yourself stop. You have to fill it. You frustrate yourself and all around you
It’s like a battery run toy that won’t turn off. Does your battery have to die before rest is an option? Yep, I have been there.
Of course, then there’s the other side of the coin. It’s easy to get in the habit of too much rest.
We were built to work. We were built to move. When we stop doing those things our muscles atrophy and any effort seems to be too much. We have to watch and make sure we don’t fall into idleness. It’s a great temptation and a very bad habit.
As foregoing rest can destroy your physical, spiritual, and mental health, too much rest can, too.
Too much rest, or too little…..which is you? If you are living in balance keep it up. That’s where you were meant to be. If you’re not, when are you going to change?
I love rest. The right amount of rest. Enough to restore and refresh, but not too much to make me sluggish or lazy. Less than balance is a bad habit.
