When the weather is good in my town (Statesville, NC), the hot air balloons come out to play. A very fun morning chasing my friend Debbie’s beautiful orange and yellow balloon. The one with primary colors had two other women flying….veteran Marsha and student Taylor. Guys flew the other two. And while I love my guy pilots, I am beyond thrilled with all the women who are flying these days. Enjoy their beauty!
And no, I don’t want to be a pilot….at least 99% of the time. About 1% of the time I may be jealous. I love to fly (in almost anything) and friends like Debbie make sure I get up in balloons on occasion. All it takes is “Do you want to get in the basket?” and I’m there. They never have to ask twice. It’ll never be enough.

Great photos!
I will never take a ride in a balloon, fear of heights.
A jet plane yes, balloon not.

I’m afraid of heights, too, so are a lot of balloon pilots. I think if you were around them a bit….both good balloon pilots and balloons….you might change your mind. I believe it is still the oldest and safest form of flight.
