So it’s February! My blog unofficially got its start in February. The year was 2012 and my niece Sara had started posting one thing she loved every day on Facebook. I decided to join her. I learned I was not able to write one sentence about anything. So some mini-blogs ensued, which you can find reposted at a later time in my blog archives.
After doing this for a month, I had a couple of friends who did not know each other have separate conversations with me recommending I continue to write on a regular basis. One suggested a blog.
I knew nothing about blogs, but decided to jump in. I’m glad I did. It has been a great addition to my life.
I think this year is a good one to revise that little love exercise for the month of February. I’ll try to do a post every day – we’ll see how that turns out. Maybe you’ll want to join me?
So to begin, I’ll remember those special friends and say “I love friends who encourage you to grow yourself.”
Sometimes we feel that people, even our own family and friends, don’t really notice us. I’m fortunate to have a community of people who often do.
To notice is good, but to tell people what you see is even better.
Then there is the next level in the process. Taking time out of your life to whisper visions in their ears. To challenge them to try new things.
Be that person who sees more in people and tells them It is a great gift you can give. Whether they do what you suggest or not is not your responsibility. You came out of your selfish cave and noticed something good in someone else, and maybe encouraged them to build on what you saw.
That’s a pretty good exercise for all of us, isn’t it?
”If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams
